Worship

The worship of God that is the mainstay of our life as a congregation meeting in St Twrog’s Church. We believe that this is the most important activity that we engage in, and it is from worship that our fellowship, service and outreach flow. Two services are normally held each Sunday in the morning and early evening, one in Welsh and the other in English. The monthly rota of Sunday services is found below.

The Holy Eucharist, the Church’s central act of worship, is celebrated each Sunday in one or other language. The liturgy used is the Church in Wales 2004 Order for the Celebration of the Holy Eucharist. We welcome those who receive communion in churches of other denominations to share with us in Holy Communion. For Matins and Evensong, we follow the more traditional pattern of the Church in Wales Book of Common Prayer 1984. Morning Prayer (followed by a time of fellowship) is normally said in church on Tuesday mornings, following a weekly service in Llanddarog Church in Wales School led by the Vicar.

Every third Sunday at 2.30pm, a more informal service is held in the National Botanic Gardens, in ‘Ty Principality.’ Admission is by the services entrance to the rear of the Garden. A welcome is extended to all to join us in this service, and our thanks to the officers of the Garden for their cooperation.

Baptisms, Marriages and Funerals are celebrated, and preparation offered for Confirmation. Arrangements for these and for other services of the Church, including ministry in times of sickness is offered should be made with the Vicar. We believe that in worship we offer the whole of our lives to God, our hopes and fears, our joys and sorrows. Great care is taken in preparing worship at St Twrog’s Church so that we may offer of our best to God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit – our Creator, Redeemer and Sanctifier.
